To sensitively uncover mysteries of this world, I must acknowledge the fact that being naïve to the sufferings of this world can hinder trust, openness, and honesty. Suffering and pain are so real for so many people, and frankly it can be invalidating for so many people when there is discussion about hope, love, or other values that are related to anything remotely religious or spiritual. I would like to first expel this “naivety” before I continue the search…
Before I can continue this blog, I must acknowledge that this pain that people are experiencing is so real. This can be referred to as one’s mental or physical diagnosis. This could also be a combination of multiple different complex internal or external battles—including the effects of decades-long systems of trauma, loss of relationships or broken relationships, and other precipitating events that lead to this pain. These effects may include deep feelings of loneliness or despair, hopelessness, feelings of worthlessness, and other psychological effects. However, to completely understand an individual experience is not something that is possible for human intellect or cognition. With this said, I’d like to acknowledge that there is something that comes from the heart that is a cornerstone of the search. That is empathy.
Empathy is not trying to understand every single aspect about a person’s experience as a science nor is it trying to obtain a Master’s degree in someone else. Rather, it is something that comes from the heart. It is saying “I know you have pain, and I’m right there with you, heart to heart.” This is the exact purpose of this blog. It is for you to know that though you may be hurting, there is a search there with it. Yet, it is a search that must start at this level of vulnerability.
You are not alone.
